The black and white silent film Sunrise of Murnau relies on the opposition between day and night. Aurore/s transforms each frame of the original film into a gray monochrome which averages out the black and white present in the original film frame. What results is a vibration of light from pale to dark gray. Projected on a sheet of tracing paper the film reproduces in space the fluttering of an eternal sunrise.
