Surface Stories

Surface stories concentrates upon a paradoxal gesture, which is essential to the conservation of photographic documents.

It is the one which consists in erasing with a soft brush, the surface of the photographs in order to take away any trace likely to damage the preservation of the documents.

The wish of embalming the objects results in the erasing of the invisible stories that the owners of the photographs and the places that housed them, had left at their surfaces.
